It is hard to define plastic packaging completely because it covers a wide range of packaging material such as synthetic or semi-synthetic organic condensation, polymerization, combination of rubber and sulphur, polymers or any material that has property of plasticity. There are different types of packaging but plastic packaging is known for its temperature tolerance, adaptability, resiliency, lightness, uniformity of composition and hardness. One of the great advantages of plastic packaging is that it can easily be recycled and used in different places. The wrapping of food is known as food packaging which requires special tampering confrontation and special protection in order to fulfill biological, physical and chemical needs. Typical food packaging shows complete label of the food product along with complete information regarding the nutrition in the food. There are different ways of food packaging and for them different types of food packaging machines available. Generally, food packaging is categorized into three classes: primary food packaging, secondary food packaging and tertiary food packaging.
Primary food packaging consists of the food packages which have food that is still being processed. Secondary food packaging is the food packaging which combines primary food packages with the other bigger boxes being made for them. Tertiary food packaging combines the secondary food packages into one big pallet. In other words primary food packaging contains units of food, secondary food packaging consists of cluster of one type of food and tertiary food packaging consists of single pallet made of different boxes for that food product. Food packaging is necessary for different purposes like protection, providing information to customers, containment, security during shipments, convenience, inventory control and count and lastly food packaging can be used for marketing of a specific business.
